A national parks tour If you want to learn about the history, culture, and geology of the national parks and other scenic sites in Nevada, Utah, and Arizona, Ken is the ideal tour guide.

Throughout the three-day tour, he provided vivid and engaging explanations of every place we visited, ranging from the geological formations of Zion National Park to the oral traditions of the Indigenous peoples associated with the Grand Canyon. His fascinating commentary significantly enriched my travel experience.

Overall, Ken stands out as a top-notch tour guide not only because of his compelling storytelling skills but also because of his deep passion for the national parks and the natural world.

Unforgettable 3-Day Southwest Tour — MaxTour Just got back from an absolute dream 3-day tour with Maxtour, and my mind is still blown. Every single stop felt straight out of an action movie or another planet. Riding up 6,500 feet along Zion's cliffside through those dark tunnels was pure adrenaline, and hiking the Riverside Walk felt like trekking through the Amazon like Indiana Jones. The slot canyons were hauntingly beautiful, with natural rock sculptures that looked like ghostly figures trying to break out of the walls. Monument Valley's 4x4 tour was the absolute highlight—those massive, iconic buttes looked like a prehistoric Western movie set. Standing on Forrest Gump Hill with my arms wide open is a memory I will keep forever. The deep blue curve of the Colorado River at Horseshoe Bend was stunning, and Bryce Canyon's hoodoos brought the Coyote legend to life right before our eyes. Having seen Mather Point in the winter, I can say without a doubt that Yavapai Point, is the grandest view of the Grand Canyon of them all. On top of that, we got bonus views from Lipan and Grandview point too.

What made this trip truly unforgettable was our guide, Jim. Since it was just the two touring guests includoingme, it felt like a top-tier private VIP tour the entire time. Jim knows the natural and anthropological history of these lands inside out. He managed everything flawlessly: driving smoothly, dodging bad weather with expert timing, finding clean restrooms and incredible local food spots, keeping the car fully stocked with snacks and drinks, and playing a playlist that set the ultimate vibe. I cannot thank Jim and Maxtour enough. Easiest 5-star review ever.

The tour guide, Jon, picked us up from our hotel and we headed out at 7 am. He was polite and excited to start the day. We went to Las Vegas, Seven Magic Mountain, Hoover Dam, Joshua Tree Arizona, and the Grand Canyon. Jon was very helpful, stopping often for riding breaks offering snacks and drinks each time. He had good information for the drive and recommendations for future adventures. I loved seeing the Hoover Dam and eating lunch at the Sky-view Restaurant. Great music, fun tour. We had the most incredible experience with Max Tours – truly one of the highlights of our trip!

Our tour to the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon, along with all the extra bonus stops, was absolutely unforgettable. Every detail was so well thought out, and the whole day ran seamlessly from start to finish.

A huge part of that was down to Bobby, who was simply exceptional. He was the perfect host - warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He made a real effort to include everyone and went above and beyond to make our children feel special, even giving them little “roles” throughout the day which they absolutely loved.

The service was first class, with great snacks and drinks provided, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Bobby’s knowledge was outstanding. He shared fascinating stories and insights that really brought each location to life.

Are kids allowed on this tour?

Yes of course! There’s no children’s price for our tours, but any children aged 5 and older are welcome to enjoy the ride on our Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam tour at the full rate. And just let us know if you need a booster seat, and we can arrange it at no extra cost.

What hotels do you pick up from?

We pick up from all hotels within 2 miles of the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada.

What time does this tour start and end?

Pick-ups are from 6:30-7:00 AM and drop-offs are usually from 7:00 and 8:00 PM, depending on the conditions on the day of the tour.

Do we need to bring our own lunch and snacks?

No (only if you want)! We’ll provide unlimited water, drinks, and snacks for our guests along the way. And there are some delicious places to grab lunch at the rim of the Grand Canyon.

What kind of vehicle will we tour on?

You will tour in high roof extended length passenger vans with 9 feet of head room, huge viewing windows, and plenty of legroom in each seat.

I'm checking out of my hotel, can I bring my luggage on the tour?

Unfortunately, there isn’t space for luggage and suitcases on the tour to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam but speak to your hotel and they can likely store them for you throughout the day.

Will I be picked up at my hotel?

Yes! As long as you are staying at a hotel within 2 miles of the Las Vegas strip or Downtown Las Vegas, you will be picked up directly from your hotel. We will email you the day before your tour to arrange the exact time and place you will be picked up for your Las Vegas Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam adventure.

What is served for breakfast?

Breakfast is usually muffins, bananas, snacks, juice, and coffee before our Hoover Dam stop.

Is there a bathroom on the bus?

Our tours are conducted in 15 seat passenger vans, not buses. There is no bathroom on our vans. We will make timely stops so all our guests can use the restroom throughout our Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam trip.

Can I bring a wheelchair on the tour?

Unfortunately, there isn’t room on our small group tour vans to bring a wheelchair. If you need to bring a wheelchair, it would be best to book a Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon West Rim tour with a bus company.

What will we see at the Grand Canyon?

The tour features some of the most memorable spots in America, including sweeping views at Guano Point and daredevil-like activities at the Skywalk at Eagle Point.

Are tips mandatory?

Your Tour Guide will work hard to ensure that all guests in attendance enjoy a uniquely memorable experience while traveling with MaxTour, and will serve as your photographer and chauffeur in addition to your source for knowledge about the sites your tour visits. While tipping is not mandatory, it is common practice and greatly appreciated by your Tour Guide.

Are mobility aids allowed on the tours?

Mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and walkers are not allowed. Arriving with any of these will result in a denial of boarding without a refund.

What if I book a tour within 24 hours of departure?

Hotel pickup is not guaranteed for tours booked within 24 hours of departure.

Are there exceptions to the cancellation policy?

No exceptions will be made to the cancellation policy. To safeguard your trip against unforeseen circumstances, we recommend purchasing our Protect My Trip option.

How will I know my pickup details?

You will receive an email the day before your tour to arrange your pickup time and location.

What is the deposit requirement when booking a tour?

A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation.

When is the remaining balance due?

The remaining balance is due 7 days before the departure date.

What happens if I book a tour within 10 days of departure?

For bookings made 10 days or less before departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Will my credit card be automatically charged for the remaining balance?

Yes, if a credit card is used to make your deposit, the same card will automatically be charged for the remaining balance when it is due, unless you advise us of an alternative payment method.
